I really like writing for a cause. And so, over the last year or so, I wrote the content for a non-profit website. It is something I have done before and LOVE doing.

What took me so long?
I did indeed go to NYC last January. I discovered that I was a very green writer of novels. However, I did come back, enroll in a novel writing class, and slog through the very bad first draft of a few chapters of my novel about a young boy, an ancestor of mine, who was captured by the Comanche Indians in the 1840's in Texas.
Perhaps I will finish it, perhaps not.

NYC
I've arrived a few days early, visiting in NJ, and it is COLD. Last night -8 degrees, seriously.
My first 500 words of my novel have been rewritten daily for the last month. Tonight I will test them on a ten year old and hit PRINT 18 copies. I am attending the writer intensive workshop on Friday before the SCBWI conference to be humbled by peer review.
Time to put my mittens back on, signing off.

NYC Bound
I will be attending the Winter Conference of the SCBWI in a few weeks. Even though the story I am working on is in my head, I have not written the first 500 words for the critique sessions. Off to work I go!
